My daughter informed me on Sunday that there were only 30 days left in the 2009-10 school year.
Amazing. They’re counting it down even in kindergarten!
The thing is, where did the school year go? It seemed like only yesterday that I was shedding tears in the foyer of my house after putting Amber on the bus for the first time.
Looking ahead to May — and that’s my question, where did April go? — it’s busy in all aspects of my life. Amber’s dance schedule gets busier in preparation for the year-end recital (pictures this Saturday, two rehearsals the week of the event and then two evening performances), not to mention Class Olympics for gymnastics that falls on a Saturday morning — and the same day as the last dance recital performance. I’m trying to get my house in order, and that’s the opportune word — TRYING — and work gets a little busier with special sections, including the annual graduation edition.
I’m not complaining. It all gets done, and it usually all turns out well. Truthfully, I’d rather be busy. I’m sure there are plenty of moms who can relate. Then when it’s all finished, you can sit back, relax and breathe a sigh of relief — and maybe satisfaction — that you made it through.
I hope everyone’s May filled with year-end activities — from graduations and year-end programs to proms and recitals — is a good one with little or no snafus. Good luck!
