Infamous “Octomom” Nadya Suleman is back in the spotlight again, but not in a good light.

ABC’s “Good Morning America” interviewed the mom of 14 after California child welfare officials and police visited her home earlier this week. They investigated amidst allegations that the family was living in squalid conditions.

The probe resulted from photos allegedly leaked by Nadya’s hairstylist to the website TMZ.com, and it revealed that the children were safe and taken care of.

Safe and taken care of, yes, but cameras also caught some unsightly things at the house, including holes in the ceilings and walls and graffiti on the walls. Apparently the children, the oldest of which might be 10 at this point, get a little too ambitious with their artistic expressions.

That aside, Nadya still takes heat for her financial matters. According to the ABC report, the hairdresser alleges Nadya spent $520 on a Brazilian blow-out and haircut for herself. Nadya fired back, saying the check covered 15 haircuts and not just one. Broken down, that’s nearly $35 a haircut. Maybe that’s a bargain in the Golden State.

Then there is the fact that Nadya has been receiving $4,000 to $5,000 a month in public assistance — something that she said she would never do. However, she told ABC News that this is the last month “on help,” and that she does have jobs.

Some of those jobs that she has done keep her and her brood in the spotlight, including a recent stint on “Dr. Drew” and posing semi-nude in a British magazine, according to the ABC report. She states that she uses the media to pay her bills, and that at this point, she does it to take care of the children.

“I had to strip myself of pride,” Nadya said in the interview.

Sometimes you have to swallow your pride and do what has to be done. At the same time, I wonder what Nadya was thinking when she decided to have all of these children on her own and what made her think she could afford it.

As for media possibilities, here’s a suggestion: Maybe TLC could concoct an episode in which¬† “19 Kids and Counting” family the Duggars could visit Nadya and provide tips, help and advice in raising a large family. Michelle and Jim Bob seem to have it down to a science, plus help from their older children.

Just a thought …
