Carl H. Seamans Jr., 84, of Factoryville, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 26, 2008, at Community Medical Center, Scranton, after an illness.
He was born in Factoryville, son of the late Carle and Irene Giles Seamans. He was married for 49 years to the former Ruth Perry, who passed away in 1996.
He was a retired dairy farmer and drove Bus #2 for Lackawanna Trail Schools for 55 years, and later drove a school van for another five years.
He attended the First Baptist Church of Factoryville. He was a 1941 graduate of Factoryville High School and attended Keystone Junior College.
He was a member of the Factoryville Sportsmen’s Club, Factoryville Men’s Civic Club, the Hit and Miss Card Club, the Couples Class of the First Baptist Church, The Dairymen’s League and several other farming organizations.
He was president of the Lithia Valley Manor Residents Association, where he had lived the past two years. His family would like to thank Carl’s Lithia Valley Manor family for the excellent care given to their father.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman, and a sister, Sonna Symons.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Fitzsimmons and her husband Jim, of Factoryville; two sons, Mark and his wife Wendy of Factoryville, and Grey of New York City; grandchildren Carlee Laubach and husband Ryan of Factoryville; Leah Ells and husband Shannon of Watkins Glen, N.Y.; Cristee Mihal and husband Nathan of Factoryville, and Andrew Seamans of Factoryville; three brothers, Richard of New Jersey, Charlie and Roger of Factoryville, and nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Friday at the Anthony P. Litwin Funeral Home, Reynolds and Capwell Streets, Factoryville, with services conducted by the Rev. Paul Fields II, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Factoryville. Interment, Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery, Factoryville.
