An 18-year-old Tunkhannock man was killed early Thursday morning in a single car crash along Rt. 29 in Eaton Township in the vicinity of Coppermine Hill.
Matthew Murray, a 2012 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School, was pronounced dead at the scene by Wyoming County Coroner Tom Kukuchka.
State police said that Murray’s 2000 Ford Focus was traveling southbound when it went off the roadway around 1:30 a.m., struck a mailbox, then an embankment, causing it to overturn.
Murray was ejected from the vehicle, just before the car came to rest in the northbound lane of travel.
Rt. 29 was closed for approximately three hours before the debris could be removed.
